the bride wore white....as did her bridesmaids
I love the white bridesmaids dresses! You don't often see white on bridesmaids; So elegant and refined. And the estate they got married at... wow.

Today i am enjoying sipping on some hot tea and catching up on all my blog reading. Maybe later I will get out of my sweat pants and put a little make-up on... maybe not. Hope your day is all you want it to be. Welcome new readers!

bringing in a little holiday cheer
Looking for a easy way to add a little holiday love to your home? Here is a great idea that i saw in the december 2008 real simple magazine... I took vintage mason jars, filled them with faux cranberries, tied some fun ribbon around the top, and topped it off with a tea light. You can really use any festive object in the jars... small glass ornaments, pistachios, small pine cones, nuts, berries... It is super easy and looks so great! I put a jar in the guest bathroom as well as on my bookshelf in the living room. What do you think?

Rachael's vintage circus bridal shower
I had so much fun throwing this lingerie shower for my little sister Rachael. It was a perfect end of September day, warm and sunny. We sat around drinking sweet tea vodka mixed with lemonade, in little mason jars. We ate "circus" themed food such as corn dogs (yum! when do you ever have the excuse to eat corn dogs?), chocolate covered bananas, popcorn and peanuts. We played a few "circus" games, the favorite being throwing a dart at a peg board full of balloons with prizes inside. We also had a photo booth set up, which was painted by my sisters talented friend Lindsey. Top all that off with a table full of candy and sexy lingerie gifts, and the party was a hit!

I LOVE this! I think i am going to start by making a few small ones and stick them in some clear vases. They remind me of snow balls!

bringing in a little holiday cheer
For a while now I have been collecting fallen acorns from the oak trees all over the city. I love these little guys around a large candle, but they can also be used on your table, or in a clear vase stacked high. If your not up for collecting them, or all the little critters have already taken them all for dinner, then I know pottery barn sells fake ones.
I also bought some rose hips from trader joe's. These stuck in a vase and put on a mantel, are a super easy way of brining holiday cheer into your home.
