real wedding: rachael + alex, part two

What's better then a little fly fishing on your wedding day???
This is one of my favorites. so darn cute.

The reception was held in a rustic receprion hall at the eagle crest resort. The tables were decorated with vintage mason jars filled with a collection of "nature", fishing flies and buttons. Flowers were arranged in vases of all sorts, borrowed from family and friends.
For their guest book, each guest/group took a polaroid picture of themselves, and exchanged it for a polaroid picture of rachael and alex.

 Home-made blackberry cobbler for dessert!
and we danced all night long!
Congratulations rachael and alex!! we love you guys!

real wedding: rachael + alex, part one

My beautiful little sister married the man of her dreams this october. It was a casual ceremony on the bank of the metolius river in sisters, oregon...where alex grew up fly fishing, and where the two have since continued to fish together. Rachael and Alex wanted their wedding to be fun and care-free like they are. Check back for part two, the reception and more pictures of the couple.
A fly... alex could tell you what kind and what likes to eat it... to me, it is a fly.
Rachael wanted a bouquet with sunflowers and local sage and grasses. She wanted the bouquet to be free and funky. We actually went out a few days before the wedding and picked sage, which grows like a weed in central oregon. We also put chrysanthemums, carthamus and wheat in the bouquets.
Alex hand-tied flies to be attached to the boutonnieres and corsages, which were made of local juniper and sage.
I just have to throw in some family shots... sisters!!!
Better include our brother and mom and dad... :)
and Alex's parents
Before the ceremony... we were having too much fun!
Guests brought blankets and chairs and sat on the bank of the river or on fallen trees for the ceremony.

Yea! Coming up next.... Rachael and Alex go fishing
